An experienced and prolific Web developer, Sean DeButts founded Seattle Tech4Good, a Web service that connects local non-profit organizations with technology-capable volunteers for their events and other needs. Sean DeButts also supports local charities on his own time, such as the Seattle Humane Society.
The Humane Society is a national non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and serving animals in need. The Seattle Humane Society was founded in 1897, and has spent over a century as an open-door shelter with no time limits, saving over 7,000 animals a year. The organization also hosts a multitude of fundraising events and programs for volunteers to get involved in, and to help support its animal-care facilities.
The Society’s annual gala, affectionately entitled Tuxes and Tails, remains one of its largest and most popular events. Attendees are asked to dress their best, and dress their pets in their nicest outfits, too. Tuxes and Tails includes a silent and live auction, a glamorous dinner party, and last but not least, a runway session featuring adoptable animals. The 2016 edition of the gala raised some $4.3 million for the Society.
